New old table

Alas, the kitchen table is finally finished. Some time ago, we acquired a new table from Dennis that was a "non-repairable" item from a move. One of the corners had broken off and it was going to cost more to repair the table than to just buy a new one. That is, until it was given to us. Many hours of work and cans of paint and lacquer later, the table is now complete. Cool thing is, it has a big leaf that's big enough to accommodate a few more people. I bought some tall chairs online and unfortunately they are more of a cherry color, rather than the black I thought they were. Many more hours and cans of paints later, we will have 6 completed chairs to go with the table. We now have one. Oh well, who eats at a table anyway? :)

Ahhh Bones...

Nothing could warm a little dog's heart quite like the flavorings of a good bone. At least I know my toiling over the grill was not in vain.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Need I say more? Kelly with his Thomas the Train kite and me with my lady bug. What do you expect for a spur of the moment Sunday Wal-Mart trip? We're lucky to live by such a huge park and golf course that we can enjoy all the time.

Antique Cars

Today, because I had never been there, we went to the Union Pacific Station in Ogden. We went through the museum and watched a movie about the collapse of the "Big Boy" steam engine train era and found an antique car exhibit. These cars were super nice.

Snowballs!!

*tee hee* Fluffy was standing on her carpet pedestal outside her dog door whining after a few minutes of frolicking in the new snow. Although some of it melted while I was trying to get a picture, the snowball on her front leg was so big she couldn't put the other arm down. Imagine her other arm sticking straight out and she's helpless to get in the house.

A Pat on the Back

I must pat myself on the back for the measly contributions I make to the basement. Aside from organizing all our crap, I insulated the entire utility room myself. :D We were noticing that having a big gaping hole from the upstairs to the downstairs was making the heater come on more frequently than usual. Apparently the cold air intake that keeps us from dying from carbon monoxide, was as big as the all outdoors, so we were getting a constant breeze from the very chilly outside. Hence, the need for insulation Kelly has started sheet rocking and we are now debating on whether or not to just hire out for the entire sheet rock project. Please note that the large pile of junk has dwindled some. 2 loads to the dump later, our stuff is FINALLY organized.

When the Cat's Away, the Dogs Will Play...

This is only one of many interesting things I've found the dogs doing while we're at work...I'm crocheting a blanket for my friend and I guess I left the yarn accessible to prying little noses.
