Introducing Baby Bridger

My sweet, tiny precious angel. Heretofore known as Bridger Russell Gerber.
My water had been trickling since Thursday morning, but a trip to the hospital had us back home by the afternoon. At 3:00 a.m. the flood gates finally opened and it was go time. I was perfectly content riding the wave of my drug induced coma for several hours. I pushed for a little over an hour before my doctor showed up and decided there was no way babykins was coming out sunny side up and they were going to have to take him C-section instead.

...His poor misshapen head the result of being engaged in the birth canal so long.

A few agonizingly long minutes later, Bridger came bouncing out. His pterodactyl like scream like music to my ears. He is healthy and thriving and we couldn't be more pleased. better yet, I bid a fond farewell to my tree trunk legs and 4 chins.

JOY!

The wonderful ladies at work threw me a baby shower last week. They were so sweet to brave such a treacherous driving day and come bearing delicious treats and a cache of great gifts. Shalee, who never spares any expense and who really has no time to spare, made this adorable Harley Davidson themed diaper cake as well as the diaper Harley you see here. Thanks again everyone for the amazing gifts and your support! The following are some items I had no idea they could make so tiny and adorable:
Teeny tiny loafers! Ooooohhhhhhh.

Itty bitty mittens...Awwwwwe!

And of course, pint sized little argyle sockies......sooooo kyooooote!
People have given us so many cute little things, I just can't fit them all. Thanks again everyone!!

Hangin' around

Baby is still hanging around in there. This pic is from a couple of weeks ago, before I developed

50 pounds of water weight in my hands and ankles and biscuit knees. The all around mushy Cabbage Patch doll look if you will. These days I am often told how "exhausted" and "ready to explode" I look, and how this will likely be the biggest baby ever born in the recorded history of the earth. Praise indeed. Sausage link toes and all, he seems to be doing well. I go in Tuesday to find out if my iron clad cervix may soon relent. Five more weeks...or less god willing.

Xmas?

The holidays came and went this year and we really didn't get any pictures. Nonetheless, it was a loverly Christmas and we both did pretty good. We made this gem of a gingerbread house, the contents of which will be lingering on my hips for the next 15 years or so. I searched the world over for a good potters wheel for Kelly and after much lamenting and driving around, found one. I can't wait to display some amazing creations in the near future. Among many other things, Kelly bought me a faabulous new sewing machine. I have a list a mile long of projects I want to start working on. Poor babykins may have to dawn some of mom's home made attire.
