Musee Mechanique

O em gee. This place deserves a post all its own. This was by far my most favorite activity of all, and better yet, totally free (with the exception of the $20 in quarters we spent trying every machine). This appears to be one of the largest collections of working coin operated games, instruments and antique arcades. Now located on pier 45 at Fisherman's Wharf FYI. The collection included a vast array of "xxx movies", which turned out to be gentlemen with shady intentions getting the crap beat out of them by large women. I also couldn't quite get enough of the palm reading machines and fortune tellers, from which I ascertained that I am lucky in love, but will likely die very soon. Comme ci, comme ca.

Furthermore

After Kelly finished work nonsense, we toured the Winchester Mystery House. I did not find this to be so incredibly mysterious. Just some crazy old coot building a house with her cripling arthritis in mind. Still cool though and I enjoyed it. Then we visited the mighty redwoods in Muir Forest and at some point, found a cantina with the most uhhhmazzzing food and beverage.

My Adventures in San Jose

Kelly had to go to San Jose to buy some splendiferous piece of machinery for work. But of course I followed. While he was working, I spent the day puttering around the city in my stupid Honda Cube trying to find things to entertain me. The sequence of events is backward, but we'll start with the Museum of Fine Arts. This is fine art, hu? Remind me next time I have to dig out fence posts, that I need only suspend them from the ceiling to be famous.

Wandered about the peace gardens for a awhile, feeling very...peaceful.


Last, but certainly not least, and first on my agenda actually, the Egyptian Museum. This dude was pretty cool, cause scans they did of his body prior to his restoration, revealed he had a crude, yet ingenious bit of hardware in his knee thought to have been a repair to some bony impingement he was suffering. The screw shaped device was probably 10 or so inches long and attached the femur to the shin bone. I am ever so thankful for advances in medical science and non-invasive procedures.

July 4th and Other Such Festivities

Kelly skied The Bird the morning of the 4th.


Shawn, Annie & the kidlets came over later for BBQ, cupcakes and completely legal non-lame fireworks. Sure does beat spending hours trying to drive 7 miles from home with thousands of other doof nards.

Trailer Pad (Revised)

Finally caught a day to pour the trailer pad this weekend. Hoorah! Still gotta pull off the forms and put up some sort of retaining wall, as well as patch a few spots. Ahem. Thanks very much to everyone who came and helped us get this done.

I Heart Daycare

5/64 = days well/days in daycare. Here, Bridger prepares to have chest x-rays to rule out possible pneumonia. He was actually very good until the last 5 minutes became intolerable. Thank you daycare for making it easier to calculate sick days in days well. Seriously, Gimme a break.
