Hangin' around

Baby is still hanging around in there. This pic is from a couple of weeks ago, before I developed

50 pounds of water weight in my hands and ankles and biscuit knees. The all around mushy Cabbage Patch doll look if you will. These days I am often told how "exhausted" and "ready to explode" I look, and how this will likely be the biggest baby ever born in the recorded history of the earth. Praise indeed. Sausage link toes and all, he seems to be doing well. I go in Tuesday to find out if my iron clad cervix may soon relent. Five more weeks...or less god willing.

Xmas?

The holidays came and went this year and we really didn't get any pictures. Nonetheless, it was a loverly Christmas and we both did pretty good. We made this gem of a gingerbread house, the contents of which will be lingering on my hips for the next 15 years or so. I searched the world over for a good potters wheel for Kelly and after much lamenting and driving around, found one. I can't wait to display some amazing creations in the near future. Among many other things, Kelly bought me a faabulous new sewing machine. I have a list a mile long of projects I want to start working on. Poor babykins may have to dawn some of mom's home made attire.

Them There Eyes

This week I had my 30 week ultrasound and probably the last ultrasound until D-day. We got lots of amazing face shots and could see baby's eyelids open and close, his mouth moving and even got to see some hair. Ain't he cute? Baby is 3.9 pounds now and some innumerable length of bony protuberances that have taken up residence in my rib cage and iiinstines. He is very, VERY active and apparently only requires 2 hours of sleep a day. Night time seems like the best time for him to practice jumping jacks. Joy. 64 days and counting?

At last!

No more gaping hole! The basement has finally been transformed from it's perpetual state of workshop, to a cozy little retreat. It's like having a brand new house. Having carpet makes me want to shrug off the remaining projects and just camp out down there. Alas, there is still work to be done. This however, is a HUGE weight off. Merry Christmas to me...

Turned off the flash, so the walls appear yellow, but honest...everything matches as it should.

Finish Work

Project basement has been in full swing for a couple of months now and the Christmas deadline is quickly creeping up on us as we (Kelly) put the finishing touches on everything. We're scheduled to get carpet this coming up Wednesday and it will be wonderful to sink my toes into something besides concrete and sheet rock dust. Thanks to m'love for working so tirelessly on such a daunting task. Tasks to be completed: Install the kitchenette, tile the bathroom and get fixtures, throw up some closet doors, install a few remaining baseboards and the usual putty and paint touch ups. These persnickety details can be sorted out later, of course.

Baby Haven

It is complete! My vision is complete! Kathy helped me put the finishing touches on her masterpiece today and I now wash my hands of this child's bedroom. I had grand plans for paint and decor and the like, but the bedding project proved to be quite enough. I'll just hang some more pictures and we'll be set. I couldn't have done a bloomin' thing without Kathy's help and expertise. My only real claim to fame on this project, are the hours of painstaking quilting which left my fingers calloused and bleeding. Thank you so much Kathy for all your help and thank you Dennis for transforming my old creaky wooden rocking chair into an attractive, stable place for me to park my ever expanding arse.

Lot of sap in here...a lot of sap

Our yearly festival of trees and my personal favorite black Friday Event. This year we found ourselves wading throught waist deep snow to find and chop down big piney. The sun was out and it was a blistering 10 degrees. Conditions couldn't have been better.
