Communing with Nature

Oh yeah, I forgot about this. This happened sometime in early September. Bridger carried his sunflower for the entire hike and fell asleep in his car seat with the end of a wilted stem in his mouth. Aint my boys cute?

Dirty Dash

I am at last posting about events which occurred over a month ago. The beautiful gals at work and I decided to do the Dirty Dash 10K up at Soldier Hollow in September. The weather was gorgeous and conditions were just right for a bloomin' muddy good time. As I previously implied, I broke myself several times when enthusiasm for the blow up bouncy slide got the better of me. Apparently I toppled off a small chasm at the end of the slide and tore some ligaments, pulled muscles, and possibly tore my meniscus. Follow up with my ortho will tell. Anywho, it was a super splendid time and I intend to do it next year...hopefully.

Bridger has decided to start crawling around the house now. He thinks it's funny to either play with the remotes or sneak up on Fluffy. The dogs will have to get used to a mobile baby!

The Month in Review

Bridger learns to army crawl and two front toofers emerge! Also, decides that he can deal with using a sippy cup, so long as it is filled with grape flavored Pedialite. Seriously, could you say no to that face? Mom continues to recoup from pneumonia......

Just in time for Bridger to catch pneumonia. Mom exhausts all sick days at work to hang out with Mr. Wheezy all week. Mom breaks herself doing the Dirty Dash (photos to follow)......

While Kelly becomes full time mom, dad, and house keeper and tends to everyone's needs, whilst catching a moment or two of football with Mr. Wheezy. Thanks babes for taking such good care of everything, and more important, with a smile on your face [almost] all the time. We're lucky to have you!

I HEART Heart

I bought me some tickets to Def Leppard from my dearest Cheryl, who had to trade hers in for handi seating following a recent knee surgery. Heart opened up for Def Leppard and in general, the whole show was huhuhmaaaazzzing! Both bands were as spectacular as ever. I hope they're still putting on shows like that when they are one foot in the grave, which shouldn't be too much longer really.

In case you've ever wondered what life looks like from the perspective of someone as height disadvantaged as myself. Didn't help that these two were the only people on the face of the earth who were literally 8 feet tall. Pretty much USANA sucks, but I maintain...one of the best concerts I've {almost} ever seen!

The Black Lung

Bridger and I have been in a constant state of sickness since July 30th. This hellish illness has morphed into the nightmare that never ends. The Diagnosis: Mom - Pneumonia. Bridger - An incurable case of daycare cough. Both of us got so bad, Bridger became unwelcome at daycare and work asked me to take nearly a week off. You would think that would be a welcome proposition, until you consider what there is to do during the day while recuperating from the black lung. What does one do you say? I will show you:

One eats handfuls of candy...I mean pills...I mean narcotics...wait, I lost track of all the medicine I've taken in the last month.

Some take the opportunity to learn a new skill, like crawling.

Watch "Losing One of My Giant Legs" Truly grotesque. More so after a hand full of candy.

Download the brostache app and torment one's child with it.

And of course, keeping up with the Tuetuls with 173 back to back episodes of American Chopper. Eff my life. I've never been so happy to leave the house. Though still coughing up our lungs, Bridger and I seem to be on the slow track to better health. Next time I get the plague, please just let nature take it's course. Much less painful than daytime t.v.

Future Embarassment #1

What kind of crazy, over-indulgent first time mom would I be if I didn't take photos with which to harass future generations? I'm going to change the name of our blog to "The Boy and the Random Stuff I Take Pictures of"
